The Association for the Provision of Social Services SOCIO is a civil society organization that initiates initiatives and participates in building public opinion and creating policies, solving social challenges in the field of social protection. It promotes, informs and implements activities to improve social services in the community. SOCIO works on social cohesion; Identification of social problems; Provision of social services.
The main reason for the establishment of the Association for Social Services is the lack of services for providing assistance and care in the nursing home on the territory of the municipality of Gostivar. The Association for Providing Social Services – SOCIO in Gostivar was established on 26.01.2022, with the support of the UNDP Program for Creating Job Opportunities for All.
The association is registered in accordance with the Law on Associations and Foundations 10.09 – other social organizations, foundations and associations of citizens. Priority activity: 88.99 – Other social protection activities without accommodation, not mentioned elsewhere.
The association has obtained a Decision, i.e. a Permit to perform activities in social protection, issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy (MLSP) for the provision of the service - HELP AND CARE IN THE HOME by 3 certified caregivers and 1 coordinator. (archive number 10-1612/7 dated 25.05.2023).
In parallel, SOCIO worked on improving its working capacities in accordance with the requirements for the service. On 15.11.2023, the MLSP received a Decision amending the Decision on performing activities in social protection for the provision of the social service - HELP AND CARE IN THE HOME by 19 caregivers and 1 coordinator. (arch. number 10-1612/14).
The association concluded an Administrative Agreement with the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy on 04.08. 2023. SOCIO concluded such administrative agreements in 2024 and 2025.
SOCIO has secured office space, which is in the central city area, easy to find and inform. The association also has the necessary equipment for work: desk, chairs, computer and printer. At the same time, the association also has appropriate equipment for caregivers, backpacks, blood pressure measuring devices, sugar, thermometers, etc.
Vision: Improved social cohesion through quality and accessible services for all vulnerable categories of citizens for their dignified life.
Mission: Providing direct assistance and services to vulnerable categories of citizens, raising public awareness of their social needs and representing their interests before the competent institutions.
